The Toddlers
Welcome to the Toddler's!
The Toddler's Room celebrates and reflects the capabilities of children aged from 18 months-3 years of age.
ERO Report 2020: 'Teachers view each family and knowledge of their child as an integral part of the learning community. Meaningful and well considered transitions within the centre contributes to children's sense of belonging. Children are seen as confident learners and explorers.'
We run a child centred programme where we focus on the children's interests and strengths, these are enriched and extended.
Te Whariki (The Early Childhood Curriculum) is the basis for all aspects of our programme which focuses on empowerment, holistic development, family and community and relationship's.
We have a large, natural outdoor environment offering lots of opportunity for exploration and learning through play.
ERO Report 2020: 'Children experience a wide range of choices in their play and are confident to make their own decisions.'
We have a constant teaching team who are passionate and dedicated to working with this age group. The teaching team believe that building positive relationships with the children and their families is pivotal to positive outcomes.
Transition: This can be an exciting time for the children which is acknowledged and fully supported by the teaching team. Teachers are responsive to the children's needs during transition to make it as positive as possible. Children near the age of 3 years begin to visit The Pagoda, usually in a small group, with a familiar teacher.
